Wisconsin Supper Club Books
Through Ron Faiola's work on his books, documentaries and speaking engagements, he has earned the reputation as Wisconsin's original and preeminent supper club scholar. Faiola has been referred to as Wisconsin's "Supper Club Guru."
It all started with his 2011 documentary, Wisconsin Supper Clubs - An Old Fashioned Experience. The film was a big hit, and was broadcast on PBS stations nationwide for several years. The response to the film was so enthusiastic, a book of the same name was released by Agate Publishing in 2013, and it was an instant hit. A second book, Wisconsin Supper Clubs: Another Round followed in 2016 with 50 more hidden gems and worthy destinations.
His third Agate release, The Wisconsin Supper Clubs Story - An Illustrated History, With Relish, covers more than a century of history behind this beloved dining tradition. The book was awarded a gold medal in the History/Non-Fiction category from the Midwest Independent Publishers Association (MiPA) in 2022.
A fourth book, Wisconsin Supper Clubs Second Edition - Expanded and Updated, was released in November of 2023. New to this edition are fifteen clubs that have entered the scene in the past decade, fulfilling their part of this tradition that is hugely popular with all Midwestern foodies in the know.
